Liu Yang acts as a judge of initial appraisal in the 14th “Humen Cup” International Young Lady’s Wear Design Competition

On the afternoon of August 16, Liu Yang acted as a judge of initial appraisal in “Humen Cup” design competition on invitation. Liu Yang, Huang Gusui (one of China Top 10 Fashion Designers) and Sun Enle (subdean of Art Design School of Guangdong University of Technology) formed the judge team and carefully selected the 2830 design works from home and abroad. After over four hours of appraisal, 30 design works from Italy, France, Russia, Malaysia, Ukraine, Macao and Chinese mainland, etc. were admitted to the final. Liu Yang remarked, “When selecting the design works, we found that some of them are fairly practical and concise. Our orientation is ‘novel’ this year. Authors should grasp the pace of fashion, such as ‘concise luxury’, and use popular elements and colors such as lace, pinkish blue, pinkish grey, pinkish orange, bright green and khaki. It is hoped to reflect the international trend in fabric, color and other elements.”

On the morning of August 16, 2013 Guangdong Fashion Week was solemnly held in Dong Fang Hotel, which was jointly initiated by Guangdong Economic and Information Commission, Yuexiu District People’s Government of Guangzhou City, Guangdong Association of Garment and Garment Article Industry, and Guangdong Fashion Designers Association, and was co-organized by Jeanswest international (H.K.) Limited. Liu Yang took part in the activity together with the following leaders: Chen Zhiying (standing committee member of Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee and concurrent vice mayor), Ma Zhengyong (deputy secretary-general of Guangzhou Municipal Government), Wang Xudong (director of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee), Chen Yong (vice director of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee), Du Yuzhou (honorary chairman of China National Textile And Apparel Council), and Chen Dapeng (executive vice chairman of China National Garment Association). At the start-up ceremony, Liu Yang granted medals to the winners of “Advantageous Independent Garment Brands at 2013 China Liuhua International Garment Festival”.

The start-up ceremony of 2013 “Provincial Governor Cup” Special Fashion Design Contest was held in Guangzhou Textile Trading Park. The contest was sponsored by Guangdong Economic and Information Commission, jointly organized by Guangdong Association of Garment and Garment Article Industry, Guangdong Fashion Designers Association, and Guangdong Industrial Design Association, and co-organized by Guangzhou Textile Trading Park. Cai Yong, vice director of Guangdong Economic and Information Commission, started gongs beating for the contest on behalf of the sponsor. As a ribbon-cutting guest, Liu Yang attended the ceremony together with about 150 people from Haizhu District People’s Government of Guangzhou City, relevant industry associations and the fashion design circle.

On the 15th anniversary of New Express, Liu Yang participated on invitation in the commonweal activity themed with “Every aerobic step leads to the height of Infinitus” that was jointly initiated by New Express and Infinitus. At the debut ceremony, Li Yihang, the head and concurrent chief editor of New Express, granted certificate to Liu Yang as a token of letting her act as celebrity of New Express. Liu Yang remarked, “People need sports to get younger and read New Express to remain young attitude.”

Liu Yang was invited to the “2012 Anhui TV New Silk Road Asian Fashion Awards”. The Asian Fashion Awards was broadcasted in the “First Studio in Asia” with 3600 square meters in Anhui TV station. To commend Liu Yang’s significant contribution to the fashion circle, he was honored with the Asia's Most Influential Fashion Designer Award. Liu Yang was delighted to be with friends from fashion and art circles.
