2015 Awards Evening of Guangdong Fashion Week - Spring Grandly Held

On the evening of March 28, the first “City Zine  Fashion Bomb Award” - Awards Evening of 2015 Guangdong Fashion Week - Spring was grandly held at Xingang 82 International Fashion Release Center of Guangzhou Textile Exchange Park, and the 7-day fashion week was successfully concluded. “City Zine  Fashion Bomb Award” is a fashion awards feast first initiated by City Zine and jointly operated in association with Guangdong Fashion Designers Association, Guangdong Association of Garment and Garment Article Industry and LADYMAX.cn, and nearly one hundred domestic media agencies were organized for the selection of award winners.

When the evening reached the climax, President Liu Yang personally presented the annual Fashion Bomb Award to the Chinese new cutting-edge designers, and the award-winning designers included Shangguan Zhe, Zhang Na, Li Na and other well-known designers. When presenting the award, President Liu Yang reminded the award-winning designers once again that they should settle down in this tumultuous era and take their own works seriously to build tomorrow’s world-renowned brands, like “CHANEL” and “DIOR”.

On the afternoon of March 22, 2015, Guangdong Fashion Week - Spring, co-sponsored by Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, Guangdong Association of Garment and Garment Article Industry and Guangdong Fashion Designers Association, was opened at Xingang 82 International Fashion Release Center of Guangzhou Textile Exchange Park.

A number of leaders and guests and more than one hundred representatives of fashion designers and media workers attended the event, including Liu Yang, President of Guangdong Fashion Designers Association, Ma Hua, Deputy Director of Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, Sun Xuan, President and Editor in chief of Guangdong Xinkuai Newspaper Office, Liu Yueping, President of Guangdong Association of Garment and Garment Article Industry, Yang Bing, Chairman of Guangzhou Joint Exchange Park Operation and Investment Co., Ltd., Da Feng, Founder of Singbada, Xiang Qiangshi, Executive Deputy General Manager of Chengdu Huamao Milan Construction Investment Co., Ltd. and Deng Guojian, Special Assistant to the Chairman of Minying Group and General Manager of Minying Mountain Wisdom City.

At the opening ceremony, Guangdong Association of Garment and Garment Article Industry, Guangdong Fashion Designers Association and Dada Singbada (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd., signed a strategic cooperation agreement to start the Fashionworks China Fashion Designer Brand Support Program. President Liu Yang deemed that the program was expected to initiate the spring for China fashion designer brands, and effectively solve the current predicament in the development of fashion designer brands, especially capital, supply chain and sales channels. Meanwhile, President Liu Yang also called for more resource holders to join the team which showed concern about and supports the development of designer brands, so as to boost the rise of China fashion designer brands and hold up the fashion future of China.

Liu Yang Acted as the Chief Judge in the General Assessment of the 2014 “Governor Cup” Garment Design Special Contest

On the afternoon of November 26, the Final of the 2014 “Governor Cup” Garment Design Special Contest was held in the Xingang 82 World Fashion Center at the Guangzhou Light Textile Trade Park. Liu Yang acted as the chief judge of the general assessment of the 2014 “Governor Cup” Garment Design Special Contest. Mr. Liu said in an interview that this year's entries were featured by high degree of serialization, high integrity of design works, high maturity of design skills and combination of design creativity and market value. In particular, the winning works, which had gone through semifinals and finals, not only contained the world’s cutting-edge creative design concepts and fashion elements with unique technological features but also met the people’s life demands with great wear ability and industrialized batch production. It is reported that this 2nd “Governor Cup” Garment Design Special Contest was held according to the spirit of “A Notice about the Printing & Issuance of the Working Plan for the 7th ‘Governor Cup’ Industrial Design Contest & Industrial Design Week” from the General Office of the Guangdong People’s Government and the specification requirements of the “Governor Cup” Industrial Design Contest. The excellent winning works will be shown in the 7th Guangdong Industrial Design Exhibition. Zhu Xiaodan (Governor of Guangdong Province), Ma Xingrui (Deputy Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee) and Liu Zhigen (Vice-governor of Guangdong Province) will attend this exhibition to view the result of this contest.

Liu Yang Acted as the Chairman of the Evaluation Committee in the 2014 Guangdong Garment Design Service Outsourcing Qualification (Institution) Certification

In order to foster and support the garment design institutions capable of design outsourcing, give guidance to the innovative development of the design outsourcing services and promote the transformation and upgrading of Guangdong’s garment industry through design, the Guangdong Fashion Designers Association held the 1st Guangdong Garment Design Service Outsourcing Qualification (Institutions) Certification Appraisal, with Liu Yang as the Chairman of the Evaluation Committee. Based on the principles of selecting only the best of the competing offers, making the final check strictly and putting quality before quantity, Mr. Liu not only made a careful assessment of each contestant enterprise but also gave many valuable suggestions about the upgrading of enterprises, explaining what institutions could meet the requirements for 5A qualification.

Liu Yang Acted as A Judge in the Final of the 15th “Humen Cup” International Youth Design Contest (Women’s Wear)

On the evening of November 8, when the 19th China (Humen) International Garment Fair & Humen Garment Festival was still in progress, the Final of the 15th “Humen Cup” International Youth Design Contest (Women’s Wear) was held in Dongguan’s Humen Huanghe Fashion Mall. It was jointly undertaken by the Guangdong Garments & Apparels Trade Association, the Guangdong Fashion Designers Association and Dongguan’s Humen Town People's Government. Totally 30 series of works from UK, Ukraine, Germany, Indonesia, Netherlands, Czech, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macao and Mainland China were shortlisted. The judges of this international contest included Liu Yang (Vice-chairman of the China Fashion Designers Association and one of China’s Top 10 Fashion Designers), Li Dangqi (Director of the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University), Ji Wenbo (a world-famous fashion designer), Li Xiaoyan (winner of China’s “Top Fashion Design Award” ), Elvine Hethener (Fashion design lecturer of IFA Paris), Colin Robert Sloan Renfrew (Vice-president of the Manchester Metropolitan University and Director of the Faculty of Garment Design and Technology) and Natalie Misan Nova (Director of the Faculty of Garment Design, Ivanovo State Textile Academy, Russia). Such a high-caliber evaluation committee rendered the authoritativeness, internationalism and fairness of this contest.
