The 1st Fashion Lifestyle Master Exposition in Mumbai, India,

The first Mumbai (LEM), Fashion Lifestyle Expo, was held in Mumbai Grand Hyatt exhibition center. The exhibition was jointly organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Guangdong Foreign Trade and Economy Cooperation Office.

 The opening ceremony was presided over by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive Donald Tsang, who also led high-level delegation of the Hong Kong business leaders to visit India. He is the official of the highest level in Hong Kong government to visit India since the Hong Kong's return to the motherland in 1997. Guests who attended the ceremony includes Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua and Hong Kong Trade Development Council Executive Director Fred Lam, and the officiating guest at the ceremony was Rajendra, Jawaharlal Darda, the Minister of Industry of Maharashtra, India.

In order to carry forward the heritage of the Lingnan culture, Liu Yang donated his work " Hibiscus rosa-sinensis", which was collected by Guangzhou Shixiang Garden.

The closing ceremony of the 2nd Lingnan Painting and Calligraphy Arts Festival and "Welcoming the Asian Games · Love Lingnan · Elegance Fashion" Lingnan Painting and Calligraphy Creative Fashion Show was held on September 29 in Guangzhou TIT Creative Park. The party invited three Lingnan Painting and Calligraphy masters including Chen Chinchang, Chen Yongqiang, who are the well-known traditional Chinese painters. They are next-best leaders of Lingnan School of Painting after Mr. Guan and Mr. Li. The party also invited three well-known fashion designers including Liu Yang, who was the Vice-Chairman of the China Fashion Designers Association, the famous senior fashion designer living in America, China Fashion Designers Golden Award winner. Together, they designed and created three sets of works integrating fashion works with fine art works to show Lingnan painting and calligraphy with a brand new perspective. To promote the Lingnan culture, these three sets of fashion works are added as three works to the art collections of Shixiang Garden Memorial Hall, the birthplace of the Lingnan School of Painting.

Liu Yang said in an interview that only when combined with fashion can the traditional culture give off enduring fragrance; only when fashion is guided by tradition can it achieve success. In his opinion, it is a useful attempt for both sides. The combination of the Lingnan painting and calligraphy and fashion provides a wealth of inspiration for the future fashion design.

The evening of September 6, the "Diyi Avenue Night” 2010 Guangdong Fashion Week, China Liuhua International Fashion Festival Welcome Dinner & the 20th Anniversary of Guangdong Clothing and Accessories Industry Association Acknowledgement Banquet was held in Guangzhou China Hotel. At the Acknowledgment Dinner, Guangdong Clothing Association conferred "the Guangdong Province Clothing Association 20th Anniversary Outstanding Contribution Award" to Liu Yang, who served as the association chairman for two consecutive terms. Liu Yueping, president of the association, presented personally Swarovski' exclusive custom made Crystal Band to recognize Liu Yang's great contributions to the Guangdong apparel industry.
